In August 2020, Jonathan took over as the Head of Education for the Danish National School of Performing Arts, Musical Academy, located in picturesque seaside Fredericia, Denmark.
The academy is the only higher education in Denmark to offer training with a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre.
Jonathan has previously served as a guest instructor and director many times at the Academy, and has long wished to relocate to Fredericia and work at the school full-time.
As Head of Education, Jonathan oversees personnel and contracts, curriculum and strategies, as well as budget. Most importantly, he is responsible for the training and the well-being of the Academy's 24 students over their three-year experience.
In 2021, Fredericia Musicalteater was constituted, with support from both the city and the state, with the intention of being the home for Danish musical theatre.
FMT intends to provide thrilling, total theatrical experiences, with a specific focus on the development of new artistic work.
Jonathan is proud to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for FMT.
Jonathan is proud to be part of the founding Board of Directors of Dansk Musical Brancheforening (Danish Musical Theatre Industry Association).
Dansk Musical is an industry association for all professionals in the musical industry in Denmark. It embraces stage technicians, sound / lighting masters, lighting and sound designers, scenic designers, dressers, actors, singers, musical performers, dancers, directors, choreographers, producers, composers, and many, many more.
Jonathan is excited to see how the association can affect the future of the Danish musical theatre industry. He looks forward to being a part of something new and important in the development of the genre in little Denmark.
