Jonathan Flom is an international musical theatre educator, a stage director, and a multi-published author. He currently serves as Head of Education at the Danish National School of Performing Arts, Musical Academy, Fredericia, where he began his tenure in August 2020.

Prior to his time in Denmark, he was Head of Musical Theatre at Shenandoah University, Virginia (2007-16) and Slippery Rock University, Pennsylvania (2019-20), as well as on the theatre faculty of Bårdar Akademiet, Oslo Norway (2016-17) and El Camino College, Los Angeles (2018-19).

Jonathan was President of the Musical Theatre Educators' Alliance  (MTEA) from 2017-2019 and Vice President for Conferences from 2015-2017, during which time he successfully planned and facilitated five conferences globally (New York City; Perth, Australia; Oslo, Norway).

Jonathan is a passionate educator and mentor. He believes in empowering artists through personal development and self-reflection. He has developed curricula to help self-actualization as well as personal branding and marketing, which is also the subject of his book, Act Like It's Your Business: Branding and Marketing Skills for Actors (2013). He also works with performers to navigate the challenging psychology of auditions, which he wrote about in Get the Callback (2nd. ed. 2016).

In addition to his expertise in entrepreneurship, Jonathan is an acting teacher and a coach, with primary expertise in Meisner Technique. He received his training (BFA, Musical Theatre; MFA Directing for the Musical Theatre Stage) from Penn State University, and he is currently continuing his acting training with Matthew Corozine Studio, New York City.
