ABOUT JONATHAN FLOM
Jonathan Flom was the head of Musical Theatre at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA from 2007-16 before moving to Oslo, Norway. In his time at Shenandoah, he developed curricula to prepare students for the contemporary business of theatre. He created and taught an entrepreneurial course entitled "Preparation for the Theatre Profession," and he championed the inclusion of Pop/Rock singing, Meisner acting technique, and on-camera work into the curriculum as well. He also created major international relationships for students to study abroad with partner institutions in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Italy, and Taiwan.
In addition to his teaching, Flom is a professional director with dozens of US regional and international productions under his belt.

He believes in empowering artists and helping performers navigate the challenging psychology of auditioning.
Jonathan served for the three years as Vice President for Conferences for the Musical Theatre Educators Alliance, and he is now in his final year as the organization's President.
He served on the faculty of Bårdar Akademiet in 2016-17. There, he taught courses in Acting (Meisner) and sat on the fagråd (steering committee) for the school's curriculum.
He now heads the new Musical Theatre BFA Concentration at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
